Horizontal Screw Discharging Centrifuge



Brief Introduction:


 The horizontal screw discharging centrifuge (briefed as horizontal screw centrifuge) is an equipment that utilize the principle of centrifugal sedimentation to separate the solid particles from the suspension liquid. This equipment may be used for clarification, dewatering or sorting of the suspension liquid with its range of concentration from 0.5% to 40% and grain diameter of solid particles of between 0.002- 3mm.


 The models of the horizontal screw centrifuge available in our company include LW-250, LW-350, LW-360, LW-450, LW-500, LW-550 and LW-650 etc. the centrifuges may be classified into following types based on its applications, which include thickening type, dewatering type, grading and sorting type and thickening and dewatering type; therefore, this equipment has seen wide applications in all the different industry sectors including sludge dewatering, chemical, light industry, pharmaceutical and food etc;


 The trial plant available in our company can offer pilot test for the materials sent from the customers; hence, the test results for the material property may be used as recommendation for selection and use of the best screw structure, taper of the rotary drum and other technical parameters for purpose of the best separation efficiency so that the customers’ need will be fully satisfied.

Equipment structure:


The horizontal screw centrifuge mainly consists of tapered drum, straight drum, screw pusher, differential mechanism, bearing seat, feeding system, machine seat, housing, primary and secondary motors as well as electric control system etc. the primary motor will drive the rotary drum and the secondary motor will drive the belt pulley of the differential mechanism to bring certain different speed between the screw and rotary drum, which as the result may generate high centrifugal force through high-speed rotation of the rotary drum to perform continuous separation of the fed materials.



 



Working Principle:

The rotary drum and screw will rotate at high speed at the specified different speed; the material is fed through the feeding tube to the screw feeding chamber and then to the rotary drum after being accelerated by the distribution holes; under the effect of the centrifugal force, the heavier solids will settle down on the walls of the rotary drum to form a layer of residue. The screw pusher will push the deposited solids continuously to the tapered end of the rotary drum, from which it is sent to the drying chamber and then thrown out of the equipment through the residue drain outlet, while the lighter liquid will be developed into a liquid loop at the inner layer and then overflows from the drum continuously through the overflow drain at the bigger end of the rotary drum and finally discharged out through the liquid outlet at the housing.

 Structural Features:


1. All major parts and components including the rotary drum etc are made of anticorrosive stainless steel material and also have been given stress relief treatment several times;

2. The screw pusher has been given special antiwear treatment, which is either welded with hard alloy protective cover or fixed with hard alloy wear plate;

3. Big length/diameter ratio, high rotation speed and options of drum’s tapered structure of multiple angles;

4. Allowed for use of cycloidal pin wheel, planetary gear or hydraulic differential mechanism with high load and big transmission ratio;

5. The differential speed may be automatically adjusted in response to the change of concentration and flow of the liquid material;

6. The horizontal screw centrifuge with BD baffle plate may be capable of thickening and dewatering treatment of the sludge from primary sedimentation tank and residual active sludge of different percentage; it also proofs high-efficient separation for some materials that are difficult to be separated;

7. Variable frequency control is introduced for the primary motor and the motor of differential mechanism to realize stepless speed control, wide applications for materials and easy commissioning;

8. Use of reasonable tolerance control and updated fabrication process; after many times of dynamic balancing test and field balancing test, the pulsation of the bearings at both ends of the equipment will be maintained within 2.5mm/s at the time of delivery ( national standard: 7.1) and the pulsation of the bearings after material feeding will be maintained within 5mm/s (national standard: 11). As the result, the low vibration can extend the service life of the bearings and reduce the noise level at site as well.


 Automatic Control System:


 The electric control system for the sludge dewatering package system produced by our company is available with following two types:

 1. General electric control system:

  This type of electric control system is normally composed of common electric control elements, which may be used for automatic/manual operation of the separator system, feeding system, flocculants dosing system, cleaning system and sludge cake conveyor system, operation monitoring, failure alarming and interlock protection of main equipments. This type of electric control system may meet the requirement for control of single unit of package system;

 2. PLC electric control system:

 It is widely known that the PLC control system has seen wide applications in all the different industrial automatic control system due to its stable performance, strong interference resistance capacity, safe and reliable working, flexible configuration and availability of software programming. The electric control system with PLC developed by our company for the control of the sludge dewatering package system may be used in many occasions, which features high level of automation and unattended operation. It can display main process operation parameters and has nearly 30 protection functions ( i.e. status monitoring, failure alarming and interlock protection etc of the equipments in the system); so the use of this PLC control system can ensure even safer and more reliable performance of the entire system.
